Animal Lore (Wild Animals)

  • QL 1: Vampire bats attack when somebody approaches within 21 feet. Vampire bats do not like fire.
  • QL 2: Vampire bats always try to attack weak spots. Despite their name, they do not suck blood, but they do bite.
  • QL 3+: Vampire bats can transmit various diseases.

Special Rules

*) Disease: Vampire bats can transmit diseases. Roll 1D20 for each full 10 DP they do. 1-12 (no disease), 13-16 (lutanas), 17-20 (rabies). Heroes cannot contract more than one disease per bite. If a hero is infected, the GM must make a disease check.

Hated Blessed Ones of the Twelvegods: vampire bats attack Blessed Ones of the Twelvegods that come within the range of their perception. The bat swarm only leaves off from attacking when half of the bat swarm is dead. This aggressive behavior is not triggered by Blessed Ones of the Nameless One or Blessed Ones whose gods are not among the Alveranian gods. It is not clear whether tales of these attacks are true (or even if the bats actually were vampire bats). It would certainly be most distressing if Blessed Ones of the Twelvegods are falling victim to surprise attacks.
